Mud Bath?

Gary likes to roll in mud puddles. This is what the bath water looked like during his bath so you can imagine what he looked like when he got in the tub.

So Many Folds, So Many Megapixels!

I think G is getting sick of me taking his picture. But he looks better than ever with this camera! So many expressions to capture!

How Cuddling Begins...

Finally! It has started! The cuddling has begun! It's always slow at first, but I expect great things. It starts with the 3 on the couch...

Then Newman confidently makes his move...

And the paws are touching! We have achieved cuddles!

Request

This is a request from a fan and jowl connoisseur, Susan T! She knows that when she finds a quality set of jowls, like on little Hazel here, that she has to do what's right and pull out a camera and send the results to me, for all jowl lovers to enjoy!

Thanks Sue, keep up the good work.

Pets On The Couch

They have all learned to share the couch space. It benefits everybody. Now if only they would start cuddling!
I of course attempt to facilitate interspecies cuddling at any opportunity.

A Muddy Bubby

Yet another trip to the tub for my boy. He LOVES the mud. He loves mud to be all over his body. No inch left untouched. Nothing makes him happier than mud. He has more baths than any dog I know.

Fangs!

Gary is about to eat Maddie's head! At dusk at the dog park, the fangs come out, and the Vampire Dogue is unleashed...

My favourite pug in the world, Chandler, Age 11...

A Prize

Tonight when I took Gary out to do his duties in the park next to our place he found a big stick, and boy was he happy about it. He danced around like he was the luckiest dog to have come across this treasure. He insisted on bringing it home, and I didn't have the heart to stop him.

A Different Pool

You've seen Gary in his purple kiddy pool, now enjoy him in a different kind of pool. A heated pool made just for dogs! G loved it! He was lucky to be introduced to it by his friends Striker and Teya.

Complete with stuffed ducks for retrieving.

Video of Gary Swimming In His Pool!

Summer Days (Are Over)

Sweet shot of Gary's jowls dripping with his pool water.

G likes to dig in his pool to find out where the water comes from. While he does this I say, "diggins!"

Nice jowl hooked on the lip of the pool moment.

Sleeping inside after a run on the beach.

I'm sure my boy is looking forward to the cold weather, but not me. Sigh!

Baby Dogue

Gary and I stopped into the vet to hop on the scales.... and low and behold they told us this little guy was coming in in 15 minutes, so of course we had to see him. Luckily Suzanne was with us and had her camera! His name is Hugo and his puppy fur was like silk. What a squeezable sweetie. I hope we get to see him around Halifax to watch him grow and to monitor his jowl development!

Mastiff Heaven

This weekend was special as we got to visit with our mastiff friends, Striker (French) and Teya (Italian). Never have I been in such Bordeaux bliss! Striker's mom said he didn't get his giant head until he was 2, so here's hoping Gary's will expand. And to those who claim that two male Bordeauxs will not tolerate each other, eat your heart out:

Tubby Time

On those hot days my boy needs to cool down. When he is too hot he lets me know by getting into the tub and waiting for me to run him a cold bath. He loves to lounge in the cold water while mommy splashes it up over him to cool all his parts.

Education Is Important

Every once in a while here at FtLotJ I like to give back and provide my fans with some valuable knowledge to expand their jowl loving horizons. This is one of those special occasions, so get your pencils ready, you might want to take notes!

Sometimes flexibility is necessary to get into those tight corners to conform to the correct angle for maximum jowl appreciation. Take up Yoga if you have to!

Lying on the floor I was able to take this shot, and therefore provide you with the valuable information below whereby I point out especially wondrous areas of Gary's jowls that might have been missed from a more vertical stand point.

The angle is everything! Look what an overhead view is missing!

It is just good practice to end any Jowl Loving Session with a good plant to the lippies.

A Study of the Lippies

It is no secret that Gary has amazing lips. Truely breathtaking. Several times a day my lips meet his and I experience moments of pure joy and childlike enthusiasm. Sometimes, his lippies get stuck out and pucker such as in the photo below. I take advantage of these swell opportunites the way any true jowl enthusiast would: I kiss those lippies! I usually accompany the kiss with a jowl squeeze as well, making for a sensually delightful combination. I recommend trying this proven combo on your nearest set of jowls at the next opportunity!

Fetch?

This is Gary at Parlee Beach, where we will be going this weekend. He isn't much of a retriever and only brings back sticks when he feels like it, but he seems to be enjoying the activity in this photo. I particularly enjoy the one ear salute.

Bordeaux Printmaking

This is a dry point etching of a Dogue de Bordeaux that I did today in class. It is etched onto plexi glass, inked with oil based ink, and then run through a press onto moistened paper. Do you think I did the jowls justice?

Canada Day Goes to the Dogs

Canada Day celebrations at the James camp. Total Canine Count was 10 this year, down from last year's 11.

Love that face. Krypto. We wanted to adopt him and rename him Dale. For obvious reasons. He is a little on the plump side. By that I mean he is obese.

Murphy is suspicious of everyone and everything [eyes flashing]. However, that is as far as it goes, as he is quite simple.

Gary and Jack, joined at the hip.

Little Buddy Harris. He make look harmless, but don't try to take his cookie.

Toby chills out.

Gary and his mommy.

The faces. G and Chief.

Dog races!

Howard displeased with life, and generally unamused, after his bath. He feels he should be able to roll in shit and continue on his day without any such interruption. The nerve of some people!

Gary hogging the turtle pool.
